Pay off a tribe with peanuts and access  no-bid fed cash for cake projects that often don’t even exist! In a fed world of lies and bribes, nobody goes to jail – they just transfer tax dollars into private accounts.

This is no doubt the definition of American “recovery.”

NAPA — The corporate shareholders live in tribal villages in the outback of western Alaska.

The CEO is in South Carolina, where his prior multimillion-dollar venture — a dot-com for sailboaters — collapsed in bankruptcy.

But the main action today is in Napa, where, without competitive bidding, this unusual construction company won a $54 million federal contract that provides a new railroad bridge and other structures for the famed Napa Valley Wine Train.

This is the world of Anchorage, Alaska-based Suulutaaq Inc. Because the company was founded by Alaska Natives, it enjoys special access to federal contracts.

That’s how it obtained one of the biggest federal stimulus contracts in California — a key segment of a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ flood-control project on the Napa River.

The common man is always against more taxes – because he’s the one who has to pay them. But what about those who get paid in tax dollars?

IT WON'T AFFECT YOUR PAYCHECK

IT WON'T AFFECT YOUR PAYCHECK

According to the US census bureau, over 20 million heads get their check in the form of taxpayer dollars, and have been for decades. This number is rough and won’t include local governments – where most government employees actually are. So well over 10% of the US ‘working’ people are actually getting their ends from – you guessed it, those very same hated taxes  everybody likes to bitch about on the barstool. We must quote the word  ‘work’ here because, well anyone who’s seen both sides knows why. In government ‘work’, you show up and then go home with nothing in between. In the private sector, well, we work. No quotation here.

So how many of these infuriated complainers are on the tax dole? If statistics are to be believed, more than one in ten who bitch about “all those goddamn taxes” wouldn’t have a paycheck without them. So it might be more accurate to bitch, “Goddamn all those taxes that don’t fund my paycheck!”

And after the big government career is over, those taxpayer-funded checks will keep on coming, and coming, and coming, and…

Lucky for us Bernanke’s got himself another term. Tell ‘ol Ben to keep the presses hot with new money rolling off in sheets.

‘Workers’ are going to need a whole lot more of it.  We know they’ll get it and we know who won’t.

And we know who’s going to pay for it.

The Exploited Times has at times been critical of this administration on a variety of fronts, including jobs.

TIME TO CELEBRATE

TIME TO CELEBRATE

But we must take a step back and apologize, due to striking new revelations on this issue brought to us by our friend Bill Boyarsky:

“Boeing is receiving a $15.9 million stimulus contract for environmental monitoring at a Southern California area where it was fined for polluting a creek with chromium, dioxin, lead and mercury, California Watch discovered. Eleven jobs will be created to clean up the mess Boeing made.”

This is the kind of result that a $787 billion stimulus pack ought to provide! Now we’re talking! Previously we had thought that a lot of this money was getting tied up in the hands of wealthy corporate chiefs and their diciples.

Boy were we wrong. We stand corrected bigtime. Way to go Obama. Thank you sir!

We have learned one valuable lesson, no matter the outcome of the health bill fiasco: What a collossal waste of time & taxpayer money!

IT'S THE ONLY WAY

IT'S THE ONLY WAY

No matter where in the debate your feelings may reside, this much is absolutely certain. It has taken the better part of a year and countless hours and dollars to arrive at this majestic conclusion, but thank God we have the government to deduce such intricate riddles.

We now have a bill that is such a ridiculous piece of trash that nobody- Democrat, Republican, Martian, or amphibian- can say that it is worth a squirt of shit. Furthermore, it is modeled after the 4-year old Massachusetts health plan that has been proven to suck the whole time these kooks were fiddling with this shit!

The only possible scenario that could produce a remotely quality result is if every lawmaker who has worked on this steaming turd got up and walked straight  off the job.  Save the bullshit apologies for your children. This might save a shred of integrity for respective families bearing the same names. Then enroll in the witness protection program to keep infuriated uninsured leper citizens from tracking your ass down. That is, if the witness protection program hasn’t been frozen.

Embarrassing is not even close to getting it.

The President of the United States has asserted his advocation for increased coal mining and burning. This is apparently part of the clean, green future of the country.

The time has come to ask the question, why is Obama here? If you answered for the people, you are pitifully wrong.

Unfortunately for all the blind cult Obama-lovers, the Exploited Times  must now begin shredding the lies and exposing the facts of this bogus State of the Union address. We can’t shred everything, and it’s not because we’re cherry-picking. It’s because the lack of substance and audacity of lies are just too overwhelming.

First off, the media is biting on this as a jobs- and economy-oriented speech about the struggles of the working people. Let it be known that nobody Obama knows or hangs out with know any struggling working people and never have, never will. Obama’s cronies gave him over $1 billion in hope and change bullshit, and this guy and everyone he rolls with are swimming in cash stolen from the American working people. So fuck all that shit.

” …the worst of the storm has passed.”

Oh really? We thought is was just getting started. The audacity of lies.

“These struggles are the reason why I ran for president.”

That is fucking bullshit.

“(Americans)..they remain busy building cars…”

Am I hallucinating here, or who in the fuck is building cars? And do we need more internal combustion cars? My neighbors have been out of work for months and they have five cars and trucks. Any fucking asshole without a job can get a car – there are more cars than there are people. That’s a problem.

Apparently corruption is not an issue or a problem in America, as our great leader does not see a need to address it. It must not exist. Thank god, I mean Obama.

“I do not accept second place for the United States of America.”

And your trillion $ and counting military will make sure of that.

“..we need to encourage American innovation.”

Then why are we operating in a permanent war economy philosophy pre-dating WWII?

“You can see the results of last year’s investments in clean energy — in the North Carolina company that will create 1,200 jobs nationwide helping to make advanced batteries; or in the California business that will put a thousand people to work making solar panels.”

‘Will create’ 1,200 jobs? ‘Will put’ a thousand people to work? Is this a joke? Did he forget the phrase a couple of paragraphs before in the speech:

“won’t make up for the seven million jobs that we’ve lost over the last two years.”

A lot of bullshit.

“But to create more of these clean energy jobs, we need more production, more efficiency, more incentives.”

Dude, you just fucked off the global climate convention. The US has 4% of the global population and creates 25% of the pollution. He goes on to advocate increased use of coal for energy – in the same paragraph!

The absolute fact is that the US is the single greatest obstacle to clean energy on the planet. The US makes its culture and standard of living possible by killing and stealing from others using its military superiority. That is why the military is our single greatest expenditure and will continue to grow exponentially under Obama or any other so-called ‘leader.’ This is a puppet on strings leading us straight into the abyss.

“The steps we took last year to shore up the housing market have allowed millions of Americans to take out new loans and save an average of $1,500 on mortgage payments

This is a perfect example of the blindness of this country. All data is 100% contrary to this statement, yet the speechwriters include it anyway, knowing that it won’t be challenged.

“Let’s try common sense. A novel concept.”

Now I am hallucinating. This guy is really patronizing the American people, and they’re eating it.  What an insult.

“It’s time to put strict limits on the contributions that lobbyists give to candidates for federal office.”

Actually it’s not. The Supreme Court mandates that corporations will control all elections.

“We will have all of our combat troops out of Iraq by the end of this August.”

Well that doesn’t mean shit, since thousands of private security forces will always be there, paid for by the American taxpayer. So much for your ‘transparency’ lies, as this statement is a purposed deception to your ‘fellow’ Americans.

A little later Obama decides to threaten Iran, which we thought was Hillary’s job. Either way defense contractors are assured a growing budget until the end of time, at the expense of all other frozen services. Work in defense or go broke and die. This is the real message of this address, and the economic structures of this country prove it, in totally unambiguous terms.

“..no matter who you are or what you look like, if you abide by the law you should be protected by it”

How can that be if the prosecution offers no evidence and the accused never receive a trial? This is a straight out lie, and an insult to all Americans.

“..so that women get equal pay for an equal day’s work”

I guess we’re going back in time to address history for Michelle’s sake.

”(Government is) full of honorable men and women doing important work that helps our country prosper”

Really? Where” Who? And by ‘prosper’ you must mean the corporate top 1%.

“..fundamental decency that has always been at the core of the American people”

Tell that to the 1.2 million dead Iraqi civilians wasted by US forces so you could drive around in circles in your SUV. The 4 million civilians in Vietnam? Korea? Like we said before, the audacity is too overwhelming to go on.

Dream on.

US and European slaves in Haiti have been unable to reach production quotas since the island was rocked by a 7.0 quake.

SLOWED PRODUCTION

SLOWED PRODUCTION

Factory owners and distributors are scratching their heads and grumbling over red ink, as production has slowed to a crawl.  In some cases, production has stopped completely.

A spokesman representing Culligan Water and NAPA auto parts described the scene.

“This is totally unacceptable.  Most of our assembly plants are pretty dusty, but they’re still here. I understand maybe coming in a little late due to commotion in the streets, but not showing up at all? This is a job, we have contracts. We’re paying Haitians good money (about $400 US per year) to assemble these parts.  If they think they’re too good to work just because there’s a little dust swirling around, we’ll just have to take our business elewhere.”

Which is exactly what many firms are deciding to do, as rebuilding costs in Haiti rise.

“We are seeing more opportunities in areas where the infrastructure isn’t so decimated. We’ll continue to evaluate the best-case scenarios to implement for our shareholders,” the spokesman explained.

Less than two months after warning Latin America to “think twice” regarding Iran President Ahmadinejad’s visit there,  the schoolyard princess is again letting her mouth get ahead of her intelligence.

“There has to be a recognition that, in the last 10 years, a lot of the indicators about quality of life in Nigeria have gone the wrong direction.”  -Hillary Clinton

Oh, that’s profound. Take a look at yourself and the US, why don’t you. This is her grand assessment of the reason why a Nigerian man attempted to blow up a plane on Christmas.

If the job of Secretary of State is to pour gas on an inflamed situation, than Clinton is certainly the right woman for the job.

Big Hollywood-sponsored magazines like Rolling Stone can afford the big bucks it takes to dig into big stories. But is it a coincidence that the big stories always seem to hit the street after the fact?

JUST IN TIME

JUST IN TIME

Not at all. Premiere journalists like Matt Taibbi live and breath to muckrake in DC, and Tim Dickinson and Jeff Goodell get plenty of damning goods.

The problem here is not with well-funded first-rate journalism. The problem is the stories get printed after all the shit goes down. They leave the reader scratching his chin and thinking, “Wow, look at what all these crooks got away with!” It almost glorifies the dastardly deeds, and sometimes lays the groundwork for counterintel that is a setup for the next big kill. All good stories come at a price.

And it makes the reader wonder too, just exactly how did they get all those secret emails and phone recordings? Who was their inside mystery source? And how long do these journalists agree to sit on the info in the grand quid pro quo that passes for crashing news today?

With all due respect, these stories are often nearly comprehensive and make for fascinating reading – and it’s all about how they did it the last time around. If only we could get something on how they’re planning on doing it this time or the next time. Now that would be a bad-ass article that could make a difference.

But it would require shitcanning the fun and games of quid pro quo. All the juicy free tabloid trash that comes in the inbox would disappear. There’s a good chance you’d be on the fastrack to freelance status, and oh yeah, there’s always the strong x factor of getting yourself killed. For real.

So in the meantime we’ll settle for reading old news. And it is fascinating.

WOULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT LEADER

WOULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT LEADER

The latest poll in California indicates citizens are not stoked on the Governor or any of his cronies. We don’t know why, considering the near-perfect condition of the state’s financial, education, agricultural, and business affairs.

The poll surveyed 1,232 citizens of over 36 million, so its accuracy is sure to be very high. But the point here is not to shred meaningless polls or pour sarcasm on the second-most fucked state in the country (behind NY).

The point here is to question why anybody could ever think that an individual who took steroids to get big muscles, portrayed Conan the Barbarian with hardly speaking a word, and became a Hollywood icon raking in political amounts of cash with the Terminator franchise, could translate this resume into becoming an effective leader.

This guy got into politics with money that juvenile droid worshippers and drunks of all ages plunked  down to see the latest special effects created in a lab surrounding a buffed-out roidhead with a fucked-up accent.

So now apparently his constituents are displeased with the political performance of his administration in leading the Golden State?

Unless history is profoundly re-written to disguise this horrific sequence of events, future political scientists are going to look at the evolution of Schwarzenegger in Hollywood and politics with petrified amusement. His legacy will be a polysci blueprint to the failure of democracy in government, and a roadmap to the domino-effect dismantling of government structures taking centuries to build. Not to mention the sociological insight into a society hopelessly affixed to screen icons.

Personally I voted for Max Headroom so I can’t take the blame for inserting this genius into the capital. Max Headroom was not only a fine actor but a gifted orator and visionary politician whose career was snuffed out too early. C’est la vie.
