ALREADY PULLED IT

ALREADY PULLED IT

It’s all about the gun. Officers feel naked without it. And apparently training and protocol (or lack thereof) make squeezing one off the anwer to every discomforting situationĀ  law enforcement may encounter. Burnt toast at the diner? Blow the waitress away. California stop? Smoke ‘em. Police dog does what he’s trained to do? Blam.

Oh yeah, and if you’re an unarmed black man lying on your stomach? Ask Oscar Grant.

An Alameda officer of the -we guess peace – retired Billy the canine via friendly fire while both were in the line of duty seeking a suspect. The dog bit the cop, likely identifying him as the perp. Maybe we should all carry guns while dog-walking, just in case. Excellent use of force.

The trial of former BART cop Johannes Mehserle won’t likely be getting underway for 6-12 months or more, but Mehserle is due in L.A. on January 8th for scheduling.

The Honorable Superior Court Judge Robert J. Perry will preside over the murder trial. Perry is known for a strict courtroom, according to associates.
