CSU ADMINS SIPHON $ FROM STUDENTS
It’s no wonder education in this country has gone in the shitter. Of course, all the money marked for education gets dispersed through
government decisions – all of which are controlled by lobbyists.

What happens is the money does get dispersed – between elected
government officials, university administrators and the lobbies. Sorry, kids.

We’re talking about public funding voted into law, misused and hidden in bogus accounting not unlike so many pyramid scams.

This is a scam that has been going on for decades, a revolving door of all the key players on the take. It’s a good job, as far as making money.

Not so good if you care about screwing over students and the future of this country, which is exactly what higher (and lower) education is
all about.

This is the business of education and it is no place for kids, unfortunately. The public can’t even find out where public money goes anymore.

CSU paid the lobbyists to ensure the law doesn’t allow salary disclosure ( Jim Doyle, SF Chronicle, July 5) This is a public entity whose entire
operation is off limits to the public. Not cool.

CSU BUDGET FIASCO TYPICAL

The California budget fiasco and failure is but one example of the vast inefficiency of government. Chris Smith (New York,July13, 2009) writes how the system has broken down and allows legislators to ‘fight, endlessly, among themselves,’ describing the clusterfuck that is Albany, NY. He goes on, ‘If ever the fight was even marginally about issues, it’s now purely about winning the political game.’

Everyone likes to win a game, but aren’t the issues what these politicians are there for? Don’t those issues have to do with the citizenry who voted them in?Paralytic government entities flail and drain public coffers, while the citizenry suffers and pays the consequences. And what’s worse, they simply don’t care, because nothing happens, the lack of accountability continues. The state budget doesn’t exist and everyone knows it. This can’t be leadership. It’s embarrassing. The people’s so-called representatives fight, endlessly, among themselves in CA too, and throughout the country. Most of us are badly misrepresented by our elected officials.

SERVANTS OF THE PEOPLE

Smith, covering NY Senator Pedro Espada, reveals how ‘Espada
wired himself and secretly recorded conversations,’ and fellow
Senator Hiram Monserrate faces felony assault charges. The
average citizen did not vote for this kind of behavior. These guys
have a funny way of representing the people, and they make lot of
money while misrepresenting the people with public funds. That’s
why it perpetuates itself – it’s good business. For them. Most drive
to work in sixy- or seventy-thousand dollar cars and take 2 or 3
hour lunches that cost hundreds. They might go to the gym after
and head home to one of their mansions. The kids are insulated in
exclusive private schools or expensive universities.

So these politicians don’t care, they’ve got it made. The citizens
do all the work and they sit back and waste all the money. But we
should remember, in a ‘Democracy,’ the government works for the
people. The members are elected as public servants. The politicians
who are screwing everybody over are technically servants of the
people from whom they are stealing. This government works for
themselves and special interests. The people, who are supposed to
be the boss, are getting left out in the cold. That, is bullshit.
